1. Getting Started
First, please refer to the Installation Guide for complete installation
instructions. When installing the adapter onto your computer, make sure
the USB port has Series "A" connector.
2. Installation Guide

- Power on the computer system.
- Plug the VScom USB-100TX USB to Fast Ethernet adapter into
the USB port of host computer.
- When the Win98/ME/2000 system asks for the driver, make sure that you select;
- Win98 :
<Search for the best driver for
your device(Recommended)>
- WinME :
<Automatic search for a better
driver(Recommended)>
- Win2000:
<Search fo a suitable driver for
my device(recommended)>
- In the next screen when Win98/ME/2000
"searches for driver", please make sure
that <Specify a location>
is selected.
While on the same screen, insert the driver diskette. Then click on
<Next> button to go on to the
next screen.
Win2000 will automatic to find the driver location.
- The system display a
"found a driver for this device"
client window, click <Next> again.
- Then the system will copy the necessary driver files, click
<Next> again
(Win2000 is <Yes> button).
- Then Driver installation completed, click
<finish>.
- Reboot the system(Win98/ME) and check into the [MyComputer->Device manager]
to confirm that the VScom USB-100TX USB to Ethernet adapter is working properly.
- Add other network protocols or network services from [Network] when needed.
3. Advanced configuration
- Flow Control
- Method for ensuring that a transmitting entity does not overwhelm a
receiving entity with data.
- Flow Control Base Rx Size
- To set the maximum buffer size(Kbytes) of the receiving entity. If the
buffer is full-filled ,the incoming data over will be dropped.
- Flow Control Base Rx Packet
- To set the maximum buffer size(packets) of the receiving entity. The
maximum setting is 16
- Link Status Wakeup
- The ability to wake up the machine upon link status alternate.
- Magic Packet
- A kind of special packet-format to wake up the asleep machine
- Media Type
- To set the link ability of the machine to 10half-duplex,10full-duplex,
100half-duplex,100full-duplex, or Auto Negotiation.
- Select Media
- To set the media of the LAN, Ethernet, HomePNA or Fiber.
- Test Mode
- This is the internal undocumented test mode.
