Firewire PCMCIA Cards
Firewire ports, like USB and serial ports, are used to connect two electronic devices so that they can exchange information. Frequently, these two devices are a notebook or laptop computer, on the one hand, and on the other, some type of input device, such as a keyboard, mouse, or printers. Because it is capable of transmitting large packages of data at very high speeds, the firewire port is most frequently utilized by devices that need to transfer a lot of data all at once, like digital cameras. When laptop and notebook users find themselves running out of available Firewire ports, they can start switching manually between devices (unplugging, for example, your camera, so that you can plug in your external hard drive). If this is not feasible, they can purchase a Firewire PCMCIA Card. These cards connect directly into the circuit board of a laptop or notebook through a PCMCIA CardBus slot on the side of the computer, and provide an extra number of Firewire ports that can be used in addition to the original port supplied by the computer. There are plenty of these cards available at Byte Runner Technologies. One of our favorite models is the EB502 card. It provides your computer with two extra Firewire ports that are very compatible and will allow you to use almost any Firewire-connected device that you plug into it. It uses very little power, is easy to install, and requires almost no maintenance once installed. Each product ordered from Byte Runner Technologies comes equipped with a year-long warranty, and a 30-day money back guarantee. This way, if anything goes wrong with your product, you can hopefully get it fixed or even replaced. Purchase of a Byte Runner Technologies product also includes free access to our technical support line.
